A Perfectly Pirate (and Fairy) Kind of Day

It was a great momstown event last Saturday when momstown Edmonton South and North got together to host the momstown Pirate & Fairy Family Picnic, sponsored by Fulton Market Burger.

There was no end fun with the Bounce Castle provided courtesy of Bounceroo, or the games and prizes sponsored by West Edmonton Hyundai.  Kids enjoyed having their hair sparkled and colored, thanks to Beaners Fun Cuts for Kids.

Thank you to all of these sponsors including The Baby Marketplace for their support and to Theatre Garage for outfitting the momstown families.

And who could forget the City of Edmonton Fire Department who kindly make an appearance with a "real" Fire Truck for all the kids, big and small, to check out!

Streetcars & Swim Trunks

It was a fabulous day in momstown.  There is no denying that we lucked out on the weather.  After many days (feels like weeks) of ho-hum, overcast, sometimes smokey weather this month we hit the jackpot with a beautiful, sunny, 27 degree day.  A perfect day for a Streetcar and Swimtrunk adventure.

We set off on the High Level Bridge Streetcar on a scenic little tour to the Legislative Grounds where we setup up picnic spots for the day.  The kids couldn't get into their Swim Trunks fast enough in order to jump and splash the day away in the wading pools and fountains. 

It was a perfect day for a fun momstown adventure!

Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! (Contest)

DJ Lance Rock and the cast of YO GABBA GABBA! are heading back on the road with YO GABBA GABBA! LIVE!: THERE’S A PARTY IN MY CITY! 

The state-of-the-art production features music, singing, dancing and animation. The show is an interactive experience that offers audience members of all ages the opportunity to witness their favorite characters come to life. Joining the characters on stage will be hip-hop legend Biz Markie to teach kids how to beat box with “Biz’s Beat of the Day”. Special guests will join the party on stage for the Super Music Friends Show and Dancey Dance segments.

Oh Summer Oh Summer

Oh Summer.  What can I say?  Where have you gone?  Where have you been?

It could just be me, but this has been one of the worst summers I can remember.  Starting late (I seem to recall snow in May, possibly June) ending early (have you stepped outside this morning?).

We tried with all our might last week to hold on to summer.  momstown hit the Beach for a day in Busytown.

It was a gloomy cool day in Edmonton but we still made the best of it with fun (for some) in the water, a picnic, playtime and lots of visiting.

April Showers Bring May Flowers - Update

Way, way back in mid-April we told you all about our April Showers theme party where the kids had the opportunity to plant sunflower seeds.  We promised to keep you posted on our Flower progress.

We promptly told you all about the the sprouting of our seedling in our April Showers Update on April 22nd.

Since then we have moved our plant to the garden where our daughter has watched it flourish and grow all summer long.

We returned from vacation yesterday to find our seedling, from way back in April, had bloomed into the most beautiful sight!  We thought you might like to see it too!
