New momstown members always ask what programs they and their child are able to attend. Let me make things clear first;
Every child and mama are welcome to attend any event.
Got older kids in the summer months tagging along?
No problem! They love to help out the littles!
Do you have toddler, baby and preschooler?
Bring them all.
momstown is not only a fantastic resource for new mamas,
we are a lifesaver for mamas of many!
What about Dads, Grandparents, and Childcare Providers?
They're all welcome too!
We've listed specific programming geared towards each age group for simplicity's sake, but please feel free to bring any age to any event!
Pregnant Mamas
Belly Chat: Dessert Nights- Once a month first time and seasoned mamas get together over dessert to talk about all things pregnancy related.
- This is a quarterly moms night out specifically for our pregnant mamas! Sponsored by prenatal specialists, this night will be full of information, fun and prizes!
Babies 0-12 months
Babies are welcome at any event, but the event below are especially fun for our tiniest of humans!
Baby Basics
- A weekly program connecting new moms with great information, fun activities and community of like-minded moms. Discussion themes led by an expert once a month, including topics like breastfeeding, infant massage, baby food, sleep patterns, etc. Alternating weeks, we lead a short "Baby Picassos" keepsake art session, sensory play or book babies!
- Why walk and drink your coffee alone? A regular momstown meet-up with your stroller and baby at the local coffee shop, park or mall to connect and take a nice walk together.
- This event is all about early literacy, music, and movement! We’ll enjoy a short baby-friendly story time, get moving with shakers and simple instruments, and leave time to connect and chat with other moms.
Toddlers 12-36 months
Toddlers are welcome at any and all events! With crafts, books and parachute play included in our programming, they are sure to have fun. The below events are targeted at the newest of walkers up to preschool age.
Toddler Time
- A fun biweekly event held on Saturdays aimed at ages 12-36 months and our working mamas! We'll alternate doing sensory play, simple crafts & fun with the parachute! Feel free to bring the whole family (including dad!) to get in on the fun! This event will almost always be a little messy so be sure to dress the kids in clothes you don't mind getting dirty!
- Toddlers love to sing so bring your singing voices and musical vibes to momstown music and movement where we’ll sing together, play, dance and learn!
- momstown’s own alphabet crafts come to life in this program focused on early literacy and letter sounds. Each time we cover a different letter with a creative craft, story and song all incorporated into lots of playtime.
Preschool 3-6 years
Preschoolers are the perfect age for every event! They love to discover new things, get messy and engage in our programming! Below are some of our preschooler's favourite events!
Tales for Tots
Junior Chef
- Sponsored by Scholastic Canada, our Tales for Tots event features a book of the month that kids will enjoy at story time, as well as an opportunity to win a book courtesy of Scholastic. A new book is shared each month, followed by a simple craft related to the story and free playtime.
- Put on your scientist hat and get experimenting! Our little scientists will have a chance to explore different sensory materials and explore hands-on. We might make our own volcanoes, learn how to mix colours or see what sinks or floats!
- momstown kids get busy in the kitchen creating their own mini meals. Come and learn fun ways to create kids favorite snacks in this hands on program.
Mama Only Events
These events are great opportunities to really get to know the other momstown mamas without a kid tugging at your leg! Of course, babes in arms are always welcome to the mama only events!
- Need to eat something other than cheerios you’ve picked off the floor? Join our supper club to check out local restaurants you haven't had time to try, get some adult conversation and have a hot meal and a laugh with moms you meet at our programs.
- Every month we will read a different book, and then get together to discuss it. With a little wine and a ton of snacks, this book club is a lot of fun!
- Mamas new to momstown have a chance to meet each other, as well as the chapter owner, at this monthly meet & greet. Come on out for some yummy dessert, get some mama time in, and meet some new people! Seasoned member are encouraged to attend to welcome new mamas to momstown!
Working Mamas!
We know it's hard to get out after a long day at work. On top of our awesome mama only events in the evenings, we also have some events that you can bring your kids out to on the weekend to enjoy all that momstown's programming has to offer!
Toddler Time

Sport Saturdays
- Designed for all ages, Sports Saturday is an opportunity to meet at a local playing field or gymnasium with other momstown families to play! Whether it's a simple game of freeze tag, bike rides or a dads vs kids soccer game, it’s a great way to get active with your family.
- momstown is known for throwing a great party! We host Halloween, Christmas, New Years Eve, Easter, and Mother's Day events every year and always on a weekend so families can attend these fun events together! This year we are celebrating our community at West Edmonton Mall in the Ice Palace on April 13th! Always free and always an amazing day!
More fun for every age!
Babies, toddlers, preschooler and school aged kids will have a blast at the below events!- Our flagship monthly event! Based on our educational curriculum and theme of the month, moms & kids do a craft together, enjoy parachute and circle time and some free play to socialize. *During the summer, Art & Play incorporates Picassos in the Park, momstown's famous "lets get messy" outdoor painting activity.
- Discover the local places together! Fun, educational, and inexpensive (or free) field trips to local family attractions, seasonal locations and places where kids can discover new things.
